Belgium Announces 2016 Eurovision Plans

Not long after the 2015 Grand Final, Belgium has announced their plans for the 2016 contest. Two broadcasters are involved in organising the acts, RTBF and VRT take turns in choosing the process for selecting their Eurovision. With Loic Nottet chosen by RTBF, 2016 plans will be organised by VRT. As in 2014, VRT would like to host a public selection however this time only focusing on 5 acts. RTBF often opt to internally select, which has in recent history, has been slightly more successful than the public selections. Either way, following on from Loic Nottet will prove to be a challenge, with the young Belgian star receiving the best results for Belgium since 2003, coming 4th in the Grand Final.

Last time VRT chose their act was in 2014, where they held a national final whereby Axel Hirsoux won with the song Mother, which failed to qualify into the final.
